Breaking news: NYC plane crash (with updates)

Here's the AP story. Developing...

Update: Mary Katharine has more.

Update: Allah does, too.

Update: From an eerie comment on Mary Katharine's post...

Psyops for sure.
9/11/01 is the same as 10/11/6 if you turn it upside down

Update: Stocks are down. Luggage is found on the ground and Allah wonders if terrorists would have packed. Photos here. 90-degree turn an accident??

Update: "Prudent measure"

Update: "The fire was raging out of two windows," witness Sarah Steiner told CNN. "It looks like the plane just flew into someone's living room."

Update: Stocks evening out, according to Reuters.

Update: I just tried to call my brother's cell phone. All circuits are busy. Deja vu. :(

Update: More pictures from Fox News. Lots of stock and etc. commentary at Reuters.

Update: It seems pretty clear that this is all an accident. But I still don't like it. More later.

Update: Kim at Wizbang has more...and a link to me.

Update: From Allah...

Update: WNBC4 just mentioned that Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle apparently applied to buy the plane in July. Wait — hold the phone. Lidle did actually purchase the plane, they’re saying now.

Was Cory Lidle flying the plane? Trying to impress his date by doing a little acrobatics over Manhattan? Standby.

Update: Fox is reporting that Lidle was indeed flying the plane.

Update: Ok, now for real, I'll be back later. I leave you (for now) with this, from Reuters:

Justice Department spokeswoman Tasia Scolinos said, "all indications from the FBI are that this was an accident. The initial assessment is that it probably just was a bad accident."

and...

Homeland Security spokeswoman Joanna Gonzalez said, "There is no indication of a terror nexis at this time. There's no specific or credible intelligence suggesting an imminent threat to the homeland at this time."

I can rest for a bit with that peace of mind.

Update: I can't stay away. Now ESPN is reporting that Cory Lidle died in the crash. (Thanks for the heads up, Chris.)
