One JC walked on water. Another predicts presidential endorsements.
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Former Sen. Jim Talent, R-Mo., is backing
former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's bid for the Republican presidential
nomination, Romney announced in a statement Thursday.
Talent will serve as domestic policy task force chairman for
Romney's presidential exploratory committee. Talent will oversee all domestic
policy development in that position.
''With Jim's experience and extensive knowledge, he will
help us look beyond the status quo and answer these challenges with bold, new
approaches,'' Romney said.
Talent lost his bid for re-election last year to Democrat
Claire McCaskill.
''Governor Romney has shown extraordinary leadership during
his many years of service,'' Talent said in a statement. ''He has a strong
conservative vision and a successful record of accomplishing that vision. I am
proud to be part of his exploratory committee and ready to help him craft
innovative policy solutions.''
